ReSource : What do we do?

Our vision is to help build a church which is diverse, local, renewed in the Spirit and effective in mission. Our work develops continuously as we respond to particular needs and requests. Among other things we can offer:

The local church

• Church renewal weekends - planned with you, a weekend at home or away for your church to help equip and encourage for renewal for mission

• Parish missions and evangelism - support, training and mission teams

• The healing ministry – resources, training and healing services or weekends

• Discipleship training through our Rooted in Jesus practical disipleship programme

• Small group leaders – support, training and encouragement

• Outreach events - speakers on topical issues such as science & faith, stress, relationships and other topics of common concern

• Preachers on evangelism and renewal for mission, for services and celebrations

• Quiet days and prayer schools

• Clergy mentoring and support through our EQUIP programme

• Parish consultancy – facilitation, problem solving, vision casting

• Supporting the PCC – area gatherings for PCCs to come together to consider the role of the PCC in promoting the whole mission of the church

Deaneries, dioceses and denominations

• Deanery or area retreats – midweek breaks of 48 hours or so for church leaders, with direction and guidance. These can be shaped in many different ways for encouragement, refreshment, and reflection on the mission and ministry of the church.

• Day conferences for leaders or CME programmes on renewal, confidence in the gospel, mission and evangelism, prayer, the healing ministry, the gifts of the Spirit, preaching, leadership, growing healthy churches, and others

• Support for Mission Partnerships and local Ministry Teams – retreats, brainstorming days, training events

• Conference speakers and seminars on topics to do with renewal for mission in the power of the Spirit

Publications and Resource materials

• Written resource material — accessible booklets and courses on key topics in nurture and discipleship, evangelism and prayer, mission and ministry, with optional support and training from the authors and other members of the ReSource team:

  • In His Name – a training course for healing prayer teams
  • Season of Renewal – a Lent course for groups
  • Beautiful Lives – a group course on sharing our faith with friends and neighbours
  • Rooted in Jesus – a group course in practical Christian discipleship
  • Stay Evangelism and Decision – booklets on sharing and embracing the Christian faith
  • Doing what Jesus did – a fresh look at the gifts of the Spirit, with a small group study
  • Booklets on Fasting, Prayer, Prayer Ministry, Renewal, the Word and other topics
  • Books by ReSource authors including Alison Morgan’s The Wild Gospel
  
  

• A full colour topical magazine - for those engaged in ministry, offering theological reflection, testimony and articles on key issues facing the church and the world.

• A website – providing information, resources, news, online articles, testimony, poetry, and prayer

And so on, however the Lord leads. We always try to match the offering to the expectation, and improvisation is one of our strengths. We always listen first.

What will these things cost?

We are a self-supporting charity with no central funding; we live by faith. We ask for the refund of our travelling expenses for any preparation visits and for the work itself, and then accommodation and/or subsistence as necessary. In addition we invite a contribution to our time and to the cost of running ReSource - to the extent which you or your church can afford. This can be handled by budgeting in advance and/or by taking up a thank-offering at the event itself, if that is appropriate. By way of guidance we suggest a daily rate for contributions of £165 per ReSource person per day, to be paid to the ReSource office; but we emphasise that the main criterion is what can be afforded. The more that can be given, the more it enables us to work in places where even our expenses can’t be met.
