ReSource : What do we do?
Making a difference
We live in a time of change, and change can be painful, uneasy. How
will we respond? Can we have confidence in this ancient faith of ours?
ReSource wants to travel with the local church according to its
God-given vision to bring about lasting change in our communities. Our
aim is to facilitate fresh vision, strengthened relationships and
renewed energy wherever we go.

Lord, transform your world, renew your Church, and start with me.
How can we help?
We work with denominations, dioceses, local groupings and individual churches. These are some of the situations we have been asked to help with. If any of these chime with your needs, do get in touch with us by email or phone (01749 672860). But there are lots of others too – please ask us.
The local church
-
A church is real and alive but it knows that if it is to thrive it needs fresh vision. Often churches need to make radical changes to their culture but this requires both insight and courage. Can we draw alongside, help identify the need for new vision and look at the changes that need to be made to the way things are done?
-
A church has an upward focus and an inward focus, but as yet has developed little or no mission focus. Can we help it to reprogramme?
-
A church is full of conflict - can we help it to resolve issues and move on?
-
A church is doing well but it needs refreshing - can we minister to it over a weekend, providing carefully chosen input so as to help them draw closer to God and to each other, so that they go home excited about their faith and refocused on their mission?
-
A church needs a good speaker for an evangelistic event, an Alpha supper or away day - can we provide?
-
A church wishes to develop in the healing ministry - can we train a team and provide a speaker for a healing service?
-
A church wants to introduce a small group ministry or put its small groups onto a better footing. Can we show it how to do that, and provide training for leaders and materials for the groups?
-
A church is planning to hold a mission. Can we help by providing encouragement, training, practical suggestions and perhaps a mission team to help with the event?
-
A church is looking for speakers for a men’s breakfast, a local school or a one-off event on topics of broad interest which will draw in both Christians and non-Christians. Can we provide them?
-
A church has a healthy youth ministry. Can we provide material for the youth cell meetings?
Deaneries, dioceses and denominations
-
A diocese is developing a programme to encourage mission – can we work with the clergy deanery by deanery to provide the resources and encouragement to make this a success?
-
The church leaders in a particular deanery or area are themselves running on empty, and the ministry feels tired and dry. Can we help these leaders draw aside and rediscover a vital link to God?
-
A deanery or area wants to find ways of bringing a mission focus to its church councils – can we run an evening for the local church councils to refresh, encourage and help them become more outward looking?
-
A theological college is looking for high calibre speakers who can offer input on the key issues facing the church – confidence in the gospel, the theology of renewal, the power of the Word, the spirituality of mission, encountering Jesus today, transformation in the gospel... Can we help?
-
A diocesan renewal group is hoping to run an open day to offer spiritual refreshment to those who are finding life a bit of a pressure – can we shape the day and provide facilitators?
-
A diocese is looking for a facilitator for a bishops’ and area deans’ retreat at which the aim is to draw aside together, build relationships and reflect on the way ahead for the diocese – can we provide?
-
A denominationational grouping is looking for inspirational conference speakers or seminar leaders on mission and spirituality – can we help?
What will these things cost?
We are a self-supporting charity with no central funding; we
live by
faith. We ask for the refund of our travelling expenses for any
preparation visits and for the work itself, and then accommodation
and/or subsistence as necessary. In addition we invite a contribution
to our time and to the cost of running "ReSource" - to the extent which
you or your church can afford. This can be handled by budgeting in
advance and/or by taking up a thank-offering at the event itself, if
that is appropriate. By way of guidance we suggest a daily rate for
contributions of £165 per ReSource person per day, to be paid
to
the ReSource office; but we emphasise that the main criterion is what
can be afforded. The more that can be given, the more it enables us to
work in places where even our expenses can’t be met.
